Dr B.N.Ramesh

Dr B.N.Ramesh IPS (Rtd.) former DGP of West Bengal. He was born on 15 July 1962 and studied in government schools. He stood district first in public examination of 7th class in Prskasam District, Andhra Pradesh and secured state first rank marks in English language in SSC examination in 1977 and was a national merit scholar throughout his education. He got high first class marks in Civil Engineering and was selected by Messers Tata Engineering And Locomotive, Jamshedpur, the then Bihar in 1984 and continued there as Executive Engineer in the plant till 24 August 1988, and next day, he joined the Indian Police Service, having secured high rank in UPSC Civil Services Examination of 1987. He secured highest marks in Political Science subject and was alloted West Bengal cader. He got many medals in elections, debates throughout including the prestigious National Police Academy Best Speaker Award and best essay writer award in 1990 passing out parade of 41ST REGULAR RECRUITS OF IPS. He got the best key result area team award in 1986 from the resident Director of TATA group in Jamshedpur for improving productivity. In his 45 years of policing life he got many medals, awards, honors which include cash reward of 6 lakhs for him and team for the biggest ever anti smuggling raid in West Bengal, cash reward of 3 lakhs for eliminating Pakistani terrorist Abdullah Uni in Kashmir as IGP Anti Terrorist Operations, 4 times commendations medal from CRPF, JK Police Golden Disc, BPR and D commendation disk and President of India's Police Medal for meritorious services

He also got the prestigious Parakram Medal for shedding his blood in the service of nation, hard duty medal, internal security medal etc. He also got cash reward of 30 000 for completing Ph D in service in the year 2019.

He is a keen sports man and ran 50 marathons and 40 half marathons and winner of prestigious Super Redunner award of international cycling. He was a Tedex speaker on Kashmir. He serves the country with pride self respect and strives to make his country number one by 2047.

He is staunch believer in national thought and follows the teachings of Adi Shankara and an ardent follower of freedom fighters life Chandra Sekhar Azad, Rani Of Jhansi, and Chatrapati Shivaji. He mentors Chandra Sekhar Azad Raj Dharma Foundation and has been mentoring many patriotic bright students, and some of them already become IAS IPS officers..He is member of Telangana Bar Council as advocate.
