Dr. BOPPUDI NAGA RAMESH (born 1963), of PALANADU district of Andhra Pradesh and resident of ASOKE NAGAR. City of Hyderabad, TELANGANA hails from Andhra Pradesh and is a Bachelor of Technology in Civil Engineering. Selected in the tough and first-ever All India Campus selections as one of the five best civil engineers by M/S  TATA Electric and Locomotive Company Jamshedpur in 1984, he joined as a Graduate Engineer Trainee and became an Executive Engineer in two years and gave up selection in the IIMs on the call of patriotic duty, joined the Indian Police Service in August 1988 and had illustrious meritorious and effective service rendering experience in West Bengal, in CRPF of Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India in different parts of India namely, Andhra Pradesh, Chhatisgarh, Kashmir valley, North-East India, Rajasthan, and Haryana.

He was the Superintendent of Police of vital/biggest districts of West Bengal namely BARDHHAMAN and NORTH 24 PARGANAS, and zonal chief of police in the industrial belt near the city of Calcutta. He successfully led many operations against smuggling, human trafficking, and other serious international crime across India Bangladesh, India and Nepal, and India-Bhutan borders. As Inspector General of Police against antiterrorist operations, in the Kashmir Valley, he contributed his best to national security and the establishment of peace and tranquility in the troubled area. He led successful operations against insurgency in the central Indian states against left-wing extremist forces. He headed the prestigious Internal Security Academy, the CRPF Academy, and trained a record number of directly appointed Gazette Officers nearly 600 of them. On 31 July 2022, he superannuated as the DGP of West Bengal.

Dr. RAMESH is an M.B.A. from the Indian Institute of Management, Calcutta, and Ph.D. from the Indian Institute of Technology, KHARAGPUR, and an M.A. in Psychology from Indira Gandhi National Open University, New Delhi. He is also LLB and LLM from Osmania University in corporate law. He completed his second Ph.D. on the subject of internal security from the National Police Academy, Hyderabad in the year 2013. He completed his third Ph.D. in law from the year 2014 to 2018 from the National Law University, Delhi on the subject of Cross-border Mergers and Acquisitions, a comparative study between the United States of America and India. He completed Post-Doctoral Fellowship from Jawaharlal Nehru University, Delhi in internal security issues and published project reports for the National Police Academy, Hyderabad Bureau of Police Research and Development, New Delhi. His book on Training Needs Analysis was published by the Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India, and his other book on Cross-Border and Acquisitions is forthcoming.

He has participated in many national and international seminars and he also conducted many training sessions for national and international senior public servants at IIT – Delhi, IIM – Ahmedabad, North East Police Academy, Shillong, Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore, IIT-KHARAGPUR, National Law University, Delhi, NLSUI BANGALORE, NALSAR, Hyderabad, WBNUJS, Calcutta, State Bank of India Institute of Leadership, Calcutta and Denver University the USA.

He completed a certificate course in the Chinese language from Calcutta University and a junior proficiency course in the Spanish language from Ramakrishna Mission Institute of social sciences, Jodhpur Park, Calcutta. He is now Pursuing Post-Doctoral Fellow Research as a scholar in LLD at Maharashtra National Law University, Aurangabad. He is a recipient of many professional and a few academic awards. He is proficient in MANY REGIONAL LANGUAGES OF INDIA which includes Telugu, Bengali, Hindi, Assamese, and Odia understands some other regional languages. He was awarded the prestigious President of India’s Police Medal of Meritorious Service in the year 2011, the PARAAKRAM MEDAL, the Internal Security Medal, Hard Duty Medal, and the CRPF medal, and he won eight commendation discs from the Jammu and Kashmir Police, CRPF, Bureau of Police Research and Development, and the prestigious Indian Army Disk for Excellent Operations in Kashmir. He led anti-terrorist operations from the front and was injured in the operation and was instrumental in establishing peace and order in the Kashmir Valley in the years 2011 and 2012. He received the prestigious distinguished alumni award from the Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur in the year 2020 and was awarded the same IN A FUNCTION CHAIRED BY THE HONOURABLE Prime Minister of India in the year 2021. He won cash Rewards both as Policeman and as a Scholar. He is a keen sportsman and has more than 60 medals in marathons, half marathons, and other run and cycling competitions.

He is the winner of the super cycling championship. He won the Super Randonneur. He completed cycling expeditions to the tune of 1500 km in the scheduled time and won that award. He is a keen follower of the Advaita philosophy of ADI SHANKARA and a follower of CHANDRA SEKHAR AZAD
