Centre for Intellectual Property & Information Technology Laws (CIPIT)

The 'The Centre for Intellectual Property & Information Technology Laws' (CIPIT) at the Maharashtra National Law University Aurangabad promotes awareness of intellectual property rights (IPR) and technology law among students and supports research in the developing subject of intellectual property. The Centre encourages research and development projects that contribute to its primary goal of intellectual pursuit and link related inter-disciplinary cooperation in order to develop a national intellectual law database.

The Centre aspires to be India's premium Centre for the study of intellectual property law. The primary goals are to actively improve research and expertise in novel and emerging fields of intellectual property law and to serve as a resource for stakeholders such as inventors, research institutions, universities, innovative industries, intellectual property practitioners, policymakers, and regulators. These goals will be accomplished by actively improving research and expertise in novel and emerging fields of intellectual property law.

Education and research in intellectual property law would be particularly strong points for the centre. Additionally, it would create cross-disciplinary intellectual property classes for researchers, students, and graduates in the scientific and academic fields. Additionally, the unit would be responsible for coordinating the enforcement of intellectual property laws between educational and research institutions and government agencies. The Centre's position as an authority on the subject of intellectual property law may be improved if it hosted conversations on legal, social, economic, and public concerns related to intellectual property law. The Centre seeks to provide short-term modules, seminars, workshops, and conferences in order to advance legal protections for intellectual property and Technology Law.
